Energy Efficiency, Comfort, and Modernization

The Verex Plaza office building provides an outstanding view of Lake Mendota and the State Capitol. Constructed in 1973, the complex consists of 105,000 square feet of rentable office space, plus underground and surface lot parking spaces.

For nearly two decades, we’ve been helping the owner improve operation and efficiency, enhance redundancy and modernize their HVAC systems.

We’ve provided the following significant projects:

  • Developed a phased approach to convert the heating system from steam to a high-efficiency hot water system
  • Upgraded the large air handling unit with new cooling coils and a fan array
  • Installed a second modular chiller to provide partial cooling redundancy
  • Designed a new Building Automation System
  • Analyzed proposed envelope changes
  • Remodeled numerous spaces
